What is Meditation?
Meditation is a mental exercise which involves awareness, focus and relaxation to train our minds to become peaceful and relaxed.
When we meditate our state of consciousness goes deep within ourselves, focusing and relaxing creating a peaceful place without outside influences. This helps the mind to train its attention and awareness and focus on things which bring calmness to our lives. The more we practice the deeper the levels/knowledge we may achieve, the stronger our awareness becomes and our observations.
Everyone is an individual and each person may have different times adapting to the technique.
Benefits - reduces stress, controls anxiety, promotes better emotional health, enhances self-awareness, lengthens attention spans, may help fight addictions, improves sleep, reduces blood pressure.
The other benefits of meditation are with increased concentration it will help us to recover our strengths, help the mind to gather thoughts and see things in perspective. A peaceful mind remains happy and is more likely to discover solutions to problems, which in turn will reduce stress.

What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is paying attention to our thoughts and feelings without judging them and helping us to accept them in the present.
So you may question how it works? Through meditation you can observe your inner thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations, which align them without feeling overwhelmed by what is happening around us. Mindfulness is a quality every human being processes and we train our minds to access this. It helps reduce stress, increases attention, enhances performances, gain awareness and improve insight of our minds in the present, rather than dwell in the past or imagine the future and teaches us to be more forgiving of ourselves.
Mindfulness Meditation uses breathing awareness techniques combined with techniques to train the mind to observe and recognize how certain things make us feel a certain way in our present time. It is deeper than relaxation meditation.
There have been 4 major studies which have been compared to one another and the outcome showed that Mindfulness may help people better their mental health, because it helps in aliment of the inner and outer body. Some people have found that it helps in coping better with physical health problems, while others have found that it has helped improve the feeling of anxiety and stress.
what is Counselling
Counselling is not an advise service or a befriending service, it is a Talking Therapy service. It is a process that may help to get to the core of the problem which is affecting us in the present time which may have risen from past suppressed emotions. These emotions will be explored emphatically over a number of agreed weeks. Some clients have found that by the end of the 6 weeks sessions they have reached their goal or have achieved improvement in their actions. Each person is an individual and each situation/emotion is individual to them and each healing time is also individual to them, the only difference is they can share and explore in a safe, trustworthy, confidential and non-judgmental environment.
